Chris McBride, the owner of Polk County Pools, is always ready for action.
“There isn’t a bad time to call!” he says.
McBride says it’s natural for people to wait until the heat of spring starts rising to inquire about building their dream pool, but the best time to sign a contract on a new build is many months before peak swimming season.
“Let us work in the off season so you can be ready for swim season,” he says.

WHAT TO EXPECT
There can be a lot of back and forth between the company and clients in the design and pricing stage. As a result of the discussions, Polk County Pools provides a 3D rendering of the agreed upon vision. Once a contract is signed the fun begins.
The on-site work can take from 12-16 weeks from start to completion. During this the Polk County Pools crew will be in and out with heavy equipment and material deliveries so it can feel a little chaotic.
“We do our best to keep the street and back yard as clean as possible and will take extra time between phases to remove excess materials and haul away any debris,” McBride says.
WHAT SETS THEM APART
The company that was founded by Chris’s dad, Tommy Sr., more than 25 years ago, prides itself on consistent communication throughout the process.
“I will be your point of contact from the beginning of the project until the finish line,” McBride says. “This helps ease the burden of communicating with multiple contacts within the company and it also limits the miscommunications because you and I will be having the conversations directly.”
The company’s in-house team of 11 staff take care of about 90 percent of the work, with subcontractors brought in for only a few specific items. This ensures a consistent level of quality and also keeps projects on time because Chris and his crew are working off of a schedule they are creating.
