Start Living the Green Life
Keeping lawns healthy and making them look pristine is second nature to Curtis Browning. In fact, at just six years old he was tasked with caring for his grandparent’s expansive lawn in historic Plant City, raking and bagging countless bags of leaves from towering Oak trees on their property alongside his brother and grandparents.
“The trash guys would come on Monday with two guys hanging off the back of the truck who would bet each other how many bags were going to be on our property, and usually there were between 80 and 150,” he recalls.
That’s where he first learned what it takes to make a St. Augustine lawn shine, and more than three decades later he is doing the same for more than 3,000 clients in Central Florida through his company Green Life Environmental.
Right out of high school he went to work at a large lawn care corporation, but he wasn’t sold on the quality of work and felt he could do better. So he and a partner founded a company that they ran together for nearly 12 years, before finally in 2014 he stepped out and founded Green Life Environmental to provide high quality pest and insect control, fertilization, lawn and shrub care, irrigation, lawn aeration and more.
One thing that sets his lawn care service apart is its proprietary fertilizer blend that is custom made in northern states. Another thing he and his staff are proud of is their continuing education regarding what makes Florida lawns lastingly beautiful, as well as the strong connections they have made in the community.
Curtis is very grateful for the team of professionals he has assembled, noting every one of them creates lawn envy of the neighbors when they complete a job with the high standard of excellence synonymous with the Green Life brand.
He is not afraid to say the company’s services are more expensive than competitors because he believes his team consistently delivers results competitors simply do not.
“We’re like the Cadillac of lawn services,” Browning says. “We have high expectations for our customers and don’t ever want them to cancel us due to our service. Ninety five percent of the time someone cancels it’s because they sold their home or they’re financially struggling.”
