Sometimes when love blooms it makes everything around it more beautiful.

The floral arrangements that adorned almost every space of Zach and Hallie’s wedding day were symbols of what the couple who met at Furman University in 2021 hope people will remember most.

“[Our theme was] soft yellow, uplifting, simple elegance, joyful, community and Gospel focused,” Hallie said. “Zach and I are so blessed to have been surrounded by incredible community our whole lives and we both have the biggest smiles! My favorite color is yellow and with a spring wedding it was a perfect fit.”

Laura Shannon of Ashton Events, and owner of Bloom Shakalaka, designed bouquets, archways and more that ended up in almost every picture from the wedding day.

Leaning into all things lovely and Lakeland, the couple hosted its rehearsal dinner in Hallie’s parent’s backyard, were married at Trinity Presbyterian Church—the church she grew up in—and had its reception at Haus 820.

Hallie said both her family and Zach’s family love hosting events, so having a rehearsal dinner on the back lawn at her parent’s house just made sense.

“I knew a rehearsal dinner in our backyard would be unmatched and I had to have all my girls get ready at the house with me the next morning!”

Zach’s favorite part of the day was experiencing dozens of little details coming together just as they had hoped, and his new bride wholeheartedly agreed.

“My favorite part was seeing everything come together, being surrounded by all my people, the moment before walking down the aisle, and the dance floor!!” she said.
