Urgent Care for Your Furry Friends
A new local spot bridges the gap between general practice and ER vet care for four-legged companions
Good pet care can be hard to come by. When the scary moments happen and you can’t visit your regular veterinarian, how will you care for your pet? UrgentVet began under the idea that pet parents need more flexibility in their veterinarian services. UrgentVet is here for you when your pet has a non-life threatening emergency, and they can’t wait to help your pet feel better. UrgentVet offers an alternative to the premium costs of 24-hour emergency hospitals and fast help when your regular veterinarian’s office hours are closed. Dr. Jim Dobies designed UrgentVet to be your go-to after hours urgent care clinic for cats and dogs. UrgentVet is open every day of the year, including nights and weekends, with online check-ins available so you and your pet can stay in the comfort of your own home until it’s your turn to be seen by the doctor.
There are 14 UrgentVet locations throughout the states of Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina, with 20 additional locations set to open this year. Their Lakeland facility opened earlier this year and is located off Exit 5 of the Polk Parkway at Harden Boulevard, directly in front of Target.
The clinic is set up in a fashion designed to ease anxious feelings because visiting the vet can be a scary experience. UrgentVet facilities are equipped with non-slip flooring, dimmable lighting, soothing colors, soft music, and other comforting amenities to make sure you and your pet are as comfortable as possible during your visit. Facilities also include a refreshment station, a comfort room and exam rooms designed specifically for dogs and cats of varying sizes.
