A Path to Pain-Free Living

Dr. Ida Abraham, Owner and Doctor of Chiropractic Care New Hope Chiropractic

The way Dr. Ida Abraham describes how she works to help people reduce and relieve chronic pain from injuries and underlying conditions is quite simple.

“I help people feel and move better,” says the owner of and Doctor of Chiropractic for New Hope Chiropractic.

The Southeastern University graduate is an experienced expert on issues related to the muscular, nervous and skeletal systems and combines hands-on techniques with state-of-the-art physiotherapy procedures and natural vitamins and supplements as a holistic approach to patient care.

Research proves that when you experience chronic pain your mind often disconnects from your body in a sense that the nervous system no longer understands there is an injury to that area.

As a result, the healing process is halted and no further relief is provided, which can leave many people in a constant state of pain.

Dr. Abraham targets the root cause by relieving pressure on the nervous system, helping patients move better, feel better and live pain-free.

Utilizing shockwave therapy provided by Shockwave Centers of America, high-energy acoustic sound waves work to heal damaged tendons, ligaments and bones and bring the body’s natural healing system back online.

Numerous cited studies show radial shockwave therapy is 70 to 80 percent effective at reducing chronic pain, especially for conditions like plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinopathy and tennis/golfer’s elbow.

THE LAKELANDER
What inspired you to become a doctor?

DR. ABRAHAM
My brother had four open skull surgeries and talked about how it saved his life. I wanted to help families stay healthy and be part of helping people. I wanted to be a medical missionary, which is possible in my field because chiropractic care and dry needling can be done with minimal equipment.

THE LAKELANDER
Is there research or implementation of new technology you’ve been a part of in the medical field that you’re proud to share about?

DR. ABRAHAM
Level 4 laser therapy, shockwave therapy and decompression therapy, as well as advanced treatment for patients recovering from auto accidents.

THE LAKELANDER
What is the biggest challenge you face in modern medicine?

DR. ABRAHAM
Patients don’t do preventative care. I wish more people would intentionally do preventive care, work to stay healthy and not wait until they are in pain.

THE LAKELANDER
Outside of work, where might someone find you in your free time?

DR. ABRAHAM
Hanging out with my kids at a trampoline park, parks, Gatorland or Disney.
