Ready for Impact
Jack Hall Jr. won’t pretend his products are the cheapest or that his team’s installs are the quickest in the industry, but he’s quite comfortable telling you that projects completed by his expert team will stand the test of time—and increasingly volatile weather patterns in the Sunshine State.
“When it comes to any of our projects, including storm shutters, you come to us if you just want to do it once. If you buy it cheap, you’re going to do it two or three times,” says the 68-year-old who founded Jack Hall Jr.’s Construction and Aluminum in 1987. “In total, I’ve been doing this for almost 50 years, and including patio enclosures, I’ve never seen one of my jobs blow down.
A 4.5-star average review from more nearly 250 customers backs up that claim of excellence.
Jack attributes the reliability of his company’s work to his team’s extensive understanding of the science of wind mitigation, as well as using thicker materials, higher quality fasteners, etc. Storm shutters are a vital component to protecting your home during tropical storms and hurricanes because by protecting all of the openings of the home it significantly reduces the probability that roof will be impacted.
Not only are storm shutters “a first line of defense,” as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) puts it, they also often help a home owner reduce insurance costs.
When evaluating a potential project, it is common for Jack’s staff to recommend for home owners to first upgrade to impact windows and doors, especially on older homes.
With higher tides and increased temperatures, the 2024 hurricane season—which included Helene and Milton—may have been a precursor for more severe weather to come in Central Florida.
“Inland here we are getting more of a kick, and the flooding associated with [recent storms] is in areas that had never been flooded,” Hall Jr. says. “You need to be aware of it all, keep a good roof on your house and protect your windows and doors.”
Aside from storm shutters, Jack Hall Jr.’s Construction and Aluminum constructs everything from carports and pool enclosures to decks and a wide array of renovations.
