An often cited study states that an estimated 2.25 billion cups of coffee are consumed every day around the globe. How many of those cups are enjoyed by Lakelanders? If you have ever sat in line at a drive-thru on a Monday morning or tried finding a seat at Concord or Black & Brew you have a good idea that it might be more than there are seconds in a day.
Locals recognize there are a ton of places to order their favorite drinks, from locally owned single locations to some of the world’s most popular franchises. But with espresso shots and festive matcha mashups being served in more locations on the map than ever before we decided to, well, make a map.
The following pages reveal a uniquely “brewed” map, created by one of our most cherished “baristas,” local artist Bump Galletta. We are calling it “Coffee City.”
It provides an opportunity for you to locate some of your favorite spots and highlights businesses you should try the next time you’re craving a delicious drink.
